Tropical Storm Lee is "No Katrina"

So they say. But the levees have been hastily rebuilt and the government refuses to test them. Record rains have already fallen up river and parts of northern Lousianna are already underwater from the intentional opening of the spillway earlier this year.

While Lee may be "no Katrina", as many are saying, that doesn't mean this is going to be a cakewalk. Lee is expected to dump an awful lot of rain on them poor ol' boys down there and the infrastructure may not be there to handle another flooded city.

We KNOW that the government funds aren't there. FEMA has ran itself dry just dealing with Hurricane Irene and is set to ask for many billions more in funding next week. Deep pocket Democrats are reportedly working on a bill now to give them a whole heckuva lot more money.

Has anyone asked for how all this money is being spent?

Ernie,

Read about FEMA not having enough funds to handle any more "emergencies". What gets me, is they are going to ask for money from the gooberment that has ALREADY reached the debt ceiling AGAIN!

Glad to see you're still doing the BI and I will follow you here. Just wish things coulda kept going on HT but ... well ... we know how it is.
