Blogspotting: Sultan Knish Examines Arab Democracy

The ever-lucid Sultan Knish examines Arab democracy. As Tocqueville noted, democracy without a Constitution to protect the rights of the minority is nothing more than two wolves and a sheep voting on what's for dinner.

As we are seeing in Egypt, the uniting of "democratic" ideals with Muslim theology equals mostly dead Christians. Democracy in Afghanistan, if you can call what our soldiers have imposed there, has resulted in the complete removal of all Christian churches (and possibly all Christians) from that country ... a feat that the Taliban never managed to pull off.

If the protestors in OWS succeed in pulling down the Constitution here, what will protect us? We are not part of the 99%. We are a minority too small to be numbered.
