Low Productivity Day

Lots of laying around going on.

Grasshoppers fried with potatoes, onions, and red peppers. They don't really have any taste of their own and look like little shrimp once they're cooked up. They take on the flavor of whatever they're cooked with.

I'm sure they don't just lie there in the pan, so how do you kill them?

Well, we catch them and put them in a Ziploc bag, then pop them into the freezer. After a good long while, we start the oil to heating up in the pan and then we take out the grasshoppers.

Pull the legs and wings off (and the head if you're squeamish, which we are) and then throw them into the pan. The small ones insta-fry.

Then we eat them. :)

I'm sure at some point in that process they died.
